White Chocolate Bark

Everyone in our home seems to be invited to a different holiday party. While I never want to send anyone to a party empty handed, I really don’t want to have to bake for all those parties. I mean, I love to bake, but it can get really ridiculous, really fast, especially with last minute invites. This chocolate bark is adorable, easy to make and delicious.  It is one of those holiday treats that is special and is always a hit with a crowd. And the best part is that it requires no baking or decorating skills to make. Everyone in my house is able to make their own chocolate bark for their own parties. And that is a definite win in my book.

It really is that easy.

With a microwave, you can have this white chocolate bark made, decorated, cooled and packaged in under an hour. Pack it up in tissue paper in a cute holiday box or pile it on a plate and wrap it up with cellophane and ribbon and you have the perfect hostess gift.

Pick up a couple of decorating frosting tubes if you don’t want to fuss with a decorating or plastic bag to draw the wires. Just snip the tip off and draw your lines. Don’t use decorating gel, it will not dry and will stay sticky.

As cute as can be, this white chocolate bark will put everyone in the holiday spirit.

Instructions
  1. In a large microwave bowl, microwave the white chocolate chips with the vegetable oil, 30 seconds at a time, stirring well in between each time until chips are completely melted.
  2. Stir until smooth.
  3. Reserve 3/4 - 1 cup of the melted chocolate and pour the rest onto a parchment or wax paper covered baking sheet. Smooth out to cover entire sheet.
  4. Add food coloring to reserved white chocolate, mixing and adding additional drops until the desired color is reached.
  5. Place colored chocolate into a decorating bag or plastic sandwich bag. Snip a small hole in the corner.
  6. Make lines and loops on top of the spread white chocolate. Leave enough colored chocolate in the bag to add "connections" once the chocolate candies are in place.
  7. Place as many chocolate candies as desired on top of the lines. If the chocolate has hardened, melt some additional chocolate to act as "glue." Dip candies into melted chocolate then place where desired.
  8. Once candies are in place, "connect" them to the line with a dab of colored chocolate.
  9. Allow to set in place until dry, then gently break into pieces.
  10. If any candies become loose, simply dip in additional melted white chocolate and secure in place.
